Hi, I’m Amy.
I am a teaching artist offering Mobile classes and workshops in Frederick County, Maryland.
Having been an artist my whole life, I began teaching art as a profession in 2008. I cherish the communities that I get to be a part of as a teacher and artist and have found long lasting friendships and relationships that remain long after the project or class schedule ends.
My Teaching Philosophy.
As a professionally trained Fiber Artist with a Master of Fine Arts, I am always integrating my studio practice into the classes that I teach. I find inspiration for my curriculum using current museum and gallery art exhibits, popular culture, and cinema. It is important for me that my lesson plans are original, engaging, and offer enrichment to my students and the communities that they are a part of. I hope to encourage open ended and self directed exploration in my classes that encourages lifelong learning.
